I designed performance creatives for Meta ads, adapting each concept across formats and refining it week by week from real results. The creatives I designed helped take the click-through past 5%, well over the target, by testing at volume and designing from what actually converted.
The pace was fast, around ten new ads a week, so volume became an opportunity to learn rather than simply produce. Instead of treating campaigns as isolated designs, I approached them as one continuous testing cycle, using each week's results to inform the next round of creatives.
Most improvements came from subtle changes rather than complete redesigns, each version tested against the last. I refined typography, spacing, contrast and composition to make the message easier to scan and the offer more prominent, removing anything that competed for attention.
Each week split three ways: iterated versions of the concepts already winning, segmented ads aimed at specific audiences, and brand new concepts to widen the test. Every idea then had to work as a feed square, a wide banner and a vertical story, rebuilt for each rather than resized.
One strong idea still needs to be rebuilt at each size, not just cropped.
Weekly iteration on real data beat guessing which creative would perform.
Clean backgrounds and strong contrast did more than any extra detail.
